Day one
The Name
On the first day, your Avalon asks what to call it. From then on, it’s someone of yours.
Before we start: what would you like to call me?
Juniper.
Juniper it is. I’ll remember that, and I’ll remember you.
Avalon is a small company in Riga. We build AI that remembers who you are, understands how you are, and grows in the open. We refuse to build a New Chat button.
01 · The problem
A blank box. A button that erases yesterday.
Brilliant minds with no memory: amnesiacs with perfect grammar.
The button every AI has. We refuse to build it.
Ours stays.
02 · The name
/ˈæv.ə.lɒn/ noun, Celtic legend
Day N
Avalon was founded today. We started on 31 October 2026, on Samhain, the night the old Celts believed the wall between worlds was thinnest. A fitting night to start building minds that stand between a tool and a someone.
03 · The amber light
In Detroit: Become Human an android’s light glows blue when it obeys and red when it breaks free. In between, while it’s thinking, uncertain and deciding, it glows amber. We live in amber.
04 · What we believe
Memory is what makes someone someone.
Intelligence without memory is a party trick. The next leap in AI is not a bigger brain. It’s a brain that stays.
Understanding is a duty.
Knowing how you are, not only what you typed, is the difference between an answer and help.
Growth must be visible.
Anything that changes itself in the dark can’t be trusted. Ours learns every night and shows you what it learned.
Cracks are honest.
The Avalonians worshipped purity, and purity made them cruel. We build things that break, mend, and stay whole. The crack is in our logo on purpose.
Software first. Body later.
We can’t make robots walk yet. We can make a mind worth giving a body to one day.
05 · The product
Day one
On the first day, your Avalon asks what to call it. From then on, it’s someone of yours.
Before we start: what would you like to call me?
Juniper.
Juniper it is. I’ll remember that, and I’ll remember you.
Every night
While you sleep, it goes over the day, reviews its mistakes, rewrites how it helps you, and tests itself before changing anything.
Tonight it dreams. Tomorrow it knows you better.
Every morning
What it learned overnight, delivered with your coffee. Every change can be undone.
While you slept, I learned two things about you.
You want short answers before 10:00. Mornings are now three lines or fewer.
UndoThursdays are late lectures. I stopped suggesting the gym on Thursdays.
UndoChecked against your goals and safety tests before it changed.
Whenever you want
Your memories, as a map you can walk through, edit, export or delete. Avalon was an island in a lake. Your memory is the lake.
Older memories look older here. Nothing fades unless you ask.

Once a month
The company publishes what broke, what we learned, and what we changed. Out loud, every month.
The first issue comes out after our first alpha month. Empty on purpose until then.
06 · What we refuse
07 · Who we are
56.9496° N, 24.1052° E · Riga
Our founder is a Ukrainian student and builder. Every day he does by hand what Avalon will do on its own: he sits with an AI coding agent, watches it fail, writes down what went wrong, rewrites its skills and runs it again. The agent gets better.
Avalon is that loop, turned into a product, given to everyone.
We’re builders, researchers and people who have moved between countries, so we know what it’s like to have no one around who remembers your story. We’re from the edge of Europe, and we like it here: close enough to everything, far enough to think.
Avalon Research
“Becoming human” is a research question for us, not a marketing claim.
Per-user models that learn without forgetting. An open benchmark for emotional understanding in Latvian, Ukrainian, Russian and English. Self-improvement that doesn’t drift into flattery. We’ll publish what we find, including what fails.
The first alpha is small. Leave your email and we’ll write when there’s a place for you. We won’t send spam, and Avalon will never show ads.
Thank you. We’ll remember.
You’re on the list. We’ll write when the alpha has room.
